Excellent product. Recommended buy.Pros:– VERY light weight and compact- m.2 ssd slot available. I separately bought an SSD for 2k to improve performance- comes with Windows 10 home edition licensed copy- build is plastic but sturdy. No complaints abt that- looks good- best priceCons:– slow performance. Dont expect a window to open immediately after clicking. But the good news is that this laptop has an m.2 ssd slot. So I separately bought an ssd for 2k which their service center guys happily installed free of charge. After the ssd upgrade for 2k the laptop is very fast. Boots up in 8 seconds max.- sound volume is a little low so dont expect to watch movies with family without external speakersOverall, it’s an excellent product for daily use. I researched Dell, HP and Lenovo laptops before buying this. None give this good a deal. No one gives Windows Licensed copy at

All good. It’s not a super computer but has it’s performance Nd works pretty well. I was beat confused before buying if amazon will deliver a good one or not. But when I got it and used it I m happy and fine with its performance and loved its compactness. So guys if u want a budget laptop under 30 k with good configurations than this laptop is for u. ASUS has done a fabulous job for budget laptops. I will recommend u guys go for it bcz it has a nice handy compact design with 14 inch screen and a fingerprint scanner which makes it perfect. Apart from that it has a fast charging battery which completes its full charge less than 1 hr. Woh aur kya chahiye. 4 saal chal jaye to bauhot he yaaar. I like it after using Lenovo for more 6 yrs . So guys don’t worry buy it if u have a plan to purchase a budget laptop under 30 k . Bcz this model is not available on market, it’s an online model. Thanks I hope u do well guys.

I have been using this for the better part of the past four hours.I am a Mac / Apple product user, and therefore, my review will be comparative. It might also seem biased.1. Build – the product is mostly plastic and often gives this wobbly clackety vibe when you are furiously typing away on the keyboard. The backspace key especially has its unique vibrato sound :-)2. Keyboard – refer (1). Also, the keyboard has a clackety sound that may or may not appeal to some. As others have pointed out all over the internet, it is a real shame that the caps lock key does not have a light to show when it is on. This is particularly irritating when you are typing a password, and you cannot figure out why the password was rejected3. Battery – seems to be holding on – took forever to charge from 70% to 100% (approximately 3 hours). But to be objective, I was working on the laptop all the time while the battery was recharged. Recommend you stick to the halfway mark on the battery optimisation setting (Better performance) instead of either extreme. The lower end tends to result in CPU stuttering. The higher-end means the battery will wear itself out fast.4. Form – the product looks good, it is all plastic of course, or at least most of the outer shell is. But it looks good, and it is light.5. Display – the display is good enough, Windows recommends 150% on the size of fonts to avoid the blurry effect. I stuck to the recommended size. I was not hung up on how good the display looks; I got this as a backup for my Mac and test runs.6. Processor – the processor, is good, and it shows when you run some complex code. Surprisingly, the keyboard does not get hot for a processor that is reasonably powerful compared to the MBA I have used before.7. RAM – you should be OK if you are using this only for documentation, browsing and emails and the processor hold up well considering it is only a generation behind the newest 9th generation. I write code as well, but I am a fan of Emacs and the command line and boot into an alternate OS, so the bulk of the graphical processing that eats away memory and processor is not a problem.8. Sound – this is an absolute downer. If I could rate sound quality separately, I would estimate that a zero. The speakers are abominable. Headphone sound quality is marginally better.9. The software – there is a lot of stuff in there I do not need. I uninstalled all of the graphic software and MS-Office (which was not activated). I uninstalled some OEM bloatware as well while retaining the support tool. The initial OS boot and setup takes its sweet time. And after the first setup, there is the whole patch-and-update cycle with at least two additional reboots. Once that is through, and you have a hang of what you need to use often, you can set the battery optimisation, and you are good to go.Summary – for the price, this is the best that I could think of, and I spent a week looking up what I needed. I am sure there are others out there, but I had to think of my price cap and the need to have a device I could lug around instead of a massive 2.5kg powerhouse.PS: the power adaptor is light too. With a little care and some attention to how you carry it around and the occasional servicing, this should serve its purpose.EDIT 24.11.2018a) So the CAPSLOCK issue can be partly mitigated by software using the Control Panel > Ease of Use, which has a toggle setting that plays two entirely different sounds for the ON and OFF setting. I am not entirely sure this is an accessibility friendly setting (those who are aurally challenged). But it is still a better alternative than figuring out after entering a password with the CAPSLOCK accidentally on three times only to have your account disabled!b) The HDMI streaming mechanism is pretty nifty, and although the windows were not perfectly aligned on the television set, using Ctrl-Alt-F11 puts it all in order. The upside is I can work without having to stick my glasses on.c) The battery optimisation software is excellent. ASUSTek’s own OEM software allows you to decide at what point to stop charging with three settings – so you do not have to kill the battery by keeping it charging past 100%. The capacity of the battery is functional too. With HDMI streaming, remote desktop, three USB external drives, I still get a good 2 hours from the battery when it is discharging from 60%.d) The maximum RAM capacity is only 16 GB (the product ships with 8 GB out of the box). The service centre does not pick up calls for an appointment. The ASUS call-centre is vague about how warranty is impacted by an upgrade from 8 GB to 16 GB. I am hoping this is not indicative of ASUS after-sales support in general.EDIT – 29.JULY.2019Bluetooth is not working any longer, and this is not Windows-specific. Even booting into Linux tells me the Bluetooth radio is non-functional. I suspect this is a hardware fault. So at this time, my ability to use this computer is severely handicapped

I generally do not write reviews. After buying so many things on Amazon I am forced to say that it is the worst thing that I have brought here. This product does not serve the purpose neither it is up to the mark as mentioned in the product description mentioned when I ordered. It’s not even been 4 months and I have got it serviced once and now after that it still so so slow. I am not sure how Asus tagline says “in search of incredible””. I won’t recommend to anyone.

Beast after installing ssd. Very easy to remove back panel, precisely 11 screws. Either replace existing sshd or install a new m.2 sata or nvme ssd. If you can afford go for nvme. Note Ubuntu cannot be installed due to missing graphics drivers

Don’t Buy this laptop, you can go for lenovo ideapad 330.1) Major Problem – The Ram Upgradation is headache in this laptop, to upgrade ram you have to remove the whole motherboard and battery just for a ram Upgrade.2) The Laptop lags when playing high end games even on low resolution, i also have lenovo IdeaPad 330(Ryzen 5) the cooling and processing is much better in lenovo, this laptop heats too much when doing heavy tasks.3) The build quality is poor.Just because of a cheaper price then lenovo i thought of giving it a try, but look like i should have payed than 5000 extra just for the performace and build quality,The lenovo idepad 330 gives you more promising computing then the AsusMy recommendationLenovo idepad 330(Ryzen 5) 8GB version.and also my buttons stopped working(P , Up and Down Arrow)Giving for a replacement or cancellation and will buy the lenovo over this.

So many people are buying/have bought this laptop and so many of them have written reviews claiming that it’s very accurate when in reality it’s so wrong. I don’t want to boast but if someone is not technologically sound enough then they should not claim being absolutely right about what they write in their respective reviews since reviews play a very crucial role in how a product does on Amazon.Anyway, this is my review on this laptop and this is going to be very accurate and in very much detail so be patient and feel free to comment below any questions if you have them after reading.First I want to begin by saying that this is current the best budget laptop out there especially for gaming and don’t worry that some upcoming laptop is going to come out soon and eradicate this one, its most likely something like that won’t happen because all the upcoming gaming laptops now feature the Nvidia GTX 1660 GPUs which are on a much higher price range than this laptop. Now, the MRP (the price it was launched at) of this laptop was 60k (59,990) but it was toned down to 50k (49,990 to be precise) because ASUS realized that the 60k price range was not very welcoming and considering the specs it is giving, 50k is ideal. This laptop has one more version which is the 705dy, the only notable difference between 505 and 705 is the screen size. 17 inch is a bit too much if you ask me, in terms of portability, 15 inch is considered to be the ideal and standard size for any laptop. Paying 10k extra just for that screen is a complete waste of money so just go for 505dy instead. Both these laptops, the 505 as well as the 705 are online exclusive products so you won’t be getting these in the offline shops, believe me, I called up many and have already tried that. You can get the 504, etc, but not these two laptops. For those who are skeptical about buying electronics online, it doesn’t matter. Buying online is just as good as offline. However, you should trust third party websites, trust only verified sellers in Amazon. Offline you do get some price off but since this is an online only product, go for it. Don’t hesitate. You won’t get a better laptop in 50k, period. When this launched, it was 50k, I waited for a week to buy it but unfortunately, the day I was going to place my order, the price hiked to 60k, I was so depressed since I was previously so hyped about buying this. I contacted forums, mailed the seller (Appario Retail) but no reply came from anywhere. Eventually, the price came down a week later for 2 days to 50k and that is when I bought it. Precisely in 49,990. Don’t pay a rupee extra than that. If the price is higher than 50k, wait for it to come down. You may feel like it never will and that you missed your chance and now your life is ruined lol, but it will get down. Hope for the best. Thanks for waiting and being so patient, now finally, the review. Don’t blame me for being so precise about all of this, the devil is in the details and I am just sharing my story for the convenient of you guys. Otherwise why would I spend such a long time writing so much, lol.Anyway, so this laptop was launched back in CES 2019 (An international event for tech enthusiasts) and it features the latest 12nm (nanometer) chip from Ryzen which is the 3550h (Fun Fact for your GK – h processors are better than u processors)The 3550h is slightly better if not equal to the 8th gen i5 8300hThe processor has Vega 8 integrated graphics which is itself a very impressive thing, a bit unnecessary since you will already get a dedicated GPU but why not.So the processor is really good, and powerful. More than enough for gaming and suitable for productivity. Now the GPU, it is the RX560x which is similar to the 1050ti, I’ve only played GTA5 so far and it runs like a dream. 1080p high at a constant frame rate range of 55-60 fpsNOTE : Always plug your charger while gaming, otherwise your game will not run smoothly at all. GTA5 without charger dips to 8,9,12, fps with content stuttering. Basically, it’s a nightmare.Don’t think of this as a problem, it’s a norm for gaming laptops. They are designed to behave like a PC so that’s why they need constant power for heavy work. There’s also a very important tip which is the most important thing about this review, I haven’t seen anyone note that point that’s why I was saying that all the other reviews are useless. It’s about the drivers, I will come to it later on, shortly. The battery life is not so good but honestly, its not that bad either. I mean, gaming laptops, even the higher end ones, all of them face this battery issue. So it’s understandable. Luckily this laptop has an excellent Power Saving mode so if you turn it on and switch off the backlit keyboard lights, and turn down the brightness to say, 50% you can easily get 5-6 hours of working hours on this laptop. The build and design is very impressive and the biggest selling point, at least for me was the slim bezels. The 6.5mm thing bezels are so sharp and it’s really surprising to see such slim bezels in a budget laptops coz slim bezels are usually only found in high end laptops.I compared this laptop with my friend’s 1.3lakh MSI in build and design, the bezels on this are considerably thinner which not only is much more pleasing aesthetically but also makes your screen feel much larger than it is.There is no SSD in this but only a 1TB HDDNOTE : Only the US version has the SSHD (Solid State Hybrid Drive) which is in short, better than a HDD since the hybrid drives mimics the intel optane design. Google it is you want to know more about it.You can install an SSD but it has to be an m.2 NVME one, you cannot use the m.2 SATA which might be bad news for some since NVME are quite expensive and much faster than SATA.At first I though, the 1TB HDD will be a bottleneck for this laptop but it’s not as bad as one might think. The laptop takes about a minute to boot and even after completing the entire game, GTA5 takes around 2 minutes to load. Pretty decent honestly. The ram is 8GB DDR4 2666MHZ not 2400MHZ, which is a good thing since obviously 2666 is faster than 2400 (you can do the math, lol), to take advantage of the CPU I do recommend adding another 2666MHZ ram to it since Ryzen really performs considerably better with Dual-Channel memory. You can upgrade it up to 32GB but for that you need to buy 2 sticks of 16GB which is make your already present 8GB useless, honestly for this CPU and GPU, 16GB is enough so just buy another 8GB of 2666MHZ DDR4 stick for Dual-Channel.There is no disk drive, which is fine since no one really uses those anymore. If you really need one, buy the USB portable ones (available on Amazon as well)I also ran Witcher 3 and it runs like a dream, I get 30FPS (while not charging) and 45-55FPS (while charging) 1080p HighBatman Arkham Knight gives me 60FPS (while charging) 1080p HighSo basically, always keep the laptop plugged while gaming!Note, the adapter can get very hot, like extremely hot, there have been times when I literally had to place a cold water bottle on top of the adapter to cool it down a bit. The laptop gets reasonably warm while gaming but the turbo cooling fans keep the laptop cool but since there is no method of cooling for the charger adapter whatsoever, the extreme hearing worries me sometimes. Now the final part, the drivers. So every GPU has drivers for it, different GPU’s require different drivers to be installed on your computer. Now, drivers are basically software which links your computer to your GPU and helps it recognize and better run the hardware. The driver for the Radeon cards and also for this 560x is the AMD Radeon Adrenaline and it didn’t come pre installed on this laptop which they should’ve done. Anyway, it’s easily and readily available on its website and the UI of the website is also pretty handy so you won’t have trouble finding and installing it.Why it’s so important, if you don’t use your dedicated GPU (560x) for say 20-30mins after you switch your laptop on, it stops recognizing it and it just disappears from both Adrenaline as well as Device Manager>Display Adapters. I thought getting the proper updated drivers would fix this problem but it didn’t. This problem is also acknowledged in Austin Evan’s review video of this laptop. At this point the laptop only shows the Vega 8 (Integraded CPU Graphics) as the only one existing and every game you run will use that making your 560x redundant. To fix this, simply restart your laptop. There is no other way to fix it apparently. I always have to cross-check if it’s still reading the 560x before running any game which can get a little repetitive and annoying after sometime.Anyway, feel free to ask any questions if you’d like!Edit (after 4 months of usage) – AMD has finally fixed the driver disappearing issue so that’s a relief. Otherwise the laptop is fine. I love the Night mode of the new Windows update. Also, I don’t know if I mentioned this above in my super lengthy review above but the Red Backlight of the Space Bar in particular doesn’t light up, don’t panic, it’s not a defect. It’s just made that way. Space Bar doesn’t have a Backlight to begin with which is a bit weird but fine. I was also facing regular rebooting issues with my laptop but the latest windows updates have really fine tuned all the flaws so yay! So basically, make sure you update all the 3 things when you but it, The Standard Windows Update, AMD Radeon Adrenaline Driver (which you would need to download so make sure you get the latest one) and finally, Update the pre-existing Vega 8 Driver from Device Manager>Display Adapters

-> The build of the product is built of plastic but its really strong to keep the weight light,->Good placement of the keyboard and yes its a full sized keyboard,-> The cooling is average but the fans are loud,->Brilliant 120hz smooth display but to keep in mind it has 48hz and 120hz instead of 60z and 120hz,->The trackpad feels weak although precise,Over all its a beast of a machine for the price of 60-70k i dont think there is a better competitors to this.

Everything is perfect but Amazon is selling it for an extra 3k.this made me dissappointed as I’ve collected money to buy a gaming laptop & now it’s price has increased. On Asus website it’s showing that the model (Fx505 DT) starts from Rs – 62,990 for 512gb ssd model and this model (256gb ssd + 1tb Hdd) is for Rs-65,990 but Amazon is selling it for Rs-68, 990.I won’t buy this Laptop until they sell it according to the website price & I’ll save 3k which will get me other accessories like Gamepad, gaming mouse & headphone 🙂

Considering the money I spent. I got a value for money laptop. Games are butter smooth. Battery backup is same as in any other gaming laptop you would expect. I personally like AMD RyZen series to be better than intel series in terms of processor performance and overclocking. Things like speakers and trackpad are okay type.. Not brilliant. Display is 120 Hz and surprisingly impressive viewing angles. And overall the laptop is lighter than ROG series. The new series Nvdia card 1650 is also better (although marginally) but still, than 1050 series.

I’ll keep this short. This laptop isn’t my ideal. I wanted to buy the version with 512GB SSD and add a 1TB HD. But that went out of stock, so I got this. It has 256GB SSD and a 1TB HD already installed. Eventually, I’ll replace the 256GB for a 512GB SSD. But for now, this is enough for what I need.I primarily run adobe softwares on this laptop. And so far, everything is running buttery smooth. I don’t use a lot of Full HD footage for editing, but the timeline has been very smooth with my 720p files. Even After Effects is mostly glitch free, although larger files (like audios of over 2 hours) makes scrubbing through the timeline a bit hard. It definitely drops frames there. However, Premiere Pro and Audition have been an absolute pleasure on this machine. There are just two cons. One big and one that I don’t care about. The speakers face downwards, so the sound without headphones is awful. But since I’m always using headphones, I don’t mind this. The trackpad is horrid. I use a mouse, but all editing softwares require a bit of pinching and zooming gestures to work smoothly, and that’s really difficult with how unresponsive this trackpad is.That’s all I have for now. If anything else work or doesn’t work about this laptop, I’ll update here.

I am writing this review after using the laptop for 5 Months. I bought this laptop for 33k(now it has dropped to 31k). After buying this laptop, I upgraded ram to 12 GB(Added 8GB) and also added 240 GB SSD. The total cost of this upgrade is approx. 6k.Pros:1) Amazing Price2) Nice and Responsive Touchpad with Mouse Gestures3) It packs in outstanding performance. Ryzen 5 2500U with 4 cores and 8 threads is top notch. It is equivalent or sometimes even beats i5 in certain fronts. The Vega 8 GPU is fairly powerful for everyday use and light gaming (Heavy gaming not recommended).4) Keyboard feels nice but has some flex to it.5) It packs in fast charger and software based charging Limiter called “ASUS Battery Health Charging”. This software is amazing and enables us to limit the charging level of our battery to 60%, 80% or 100%.A Wise Note: Charging any electronic device (Mobiles, Laptops, etc) upto 80% and not letting the battery drop to less than 20%(along with once in 3 week full charges and battery emptying), is said to nearly double the lifespan of the battery.6) Sleek, Slim and Lightweight. I experienced no issues with respect to portability. It packs in 15.6 Inch but body is size is not as big as other laptops due to thin bezels.7) It has USB 3.1 Type-C port. This is a very important addition which could not been many laptops even now.8) Temperatures are normal and overheating has never been experienced. The fan noise at full speed is quite noticeable but not disturbingly loud.9) It has an empty ram slot available (4GB Ram will be soldered in the motherboard) and it also has an M.2 SSD slot. This slot is said to be SATA M.2 slot and hence would recommend not to buy NVMe SSD.Cons:1) The design of arrow keys is very awkward and it is very uncomfortable to use.2) Inferior battery life. Under minimal usages, I would get 3 hours 30 Minutes. Under Normal usages (Watching Videos, Transferring Files and Browsing several Tabs), I would get 2 to 2.5 hours of screen on time.3) Upgrading Ram and SSD is herculean task. A lot of disassembly is required. No proper documentation could be found with respect to this at the time of launch. The components are delicate and made up of cheap plastic. It is very flimsy and must be carefully handled. I have attached some photos of the disassembly. Unless people have some general experience in disassembling electrical components, I would highly recommend against doing this. Nearby Service Centre would be an ideal choice.4) The Screen is 1080p TFT Panel. It covers only 45% of NTSC. The colors looks washed out and screen is not very bright. The viewing angles are also horrible.5) The Webcam quality is very worse. It looks like some pre-2010’s era of Webcam. The Microphone on the other hand is fairly decent.I would highly recommend anyone who buy this laptop to upgrade RAM as soon as possible. In many multitasking situations, 4 GB of RAM along with slow 5400 RPM Drive, is horrendously slow. There used to be a lot of lag and hangs while switching between applications. I would recommend adding 8GB of DDR4 SODIMM RAM (I got the Crucial DDR4 single stick 2400Mhz).The Hard Disk is also extremely slow with respect to todays standards. Getting a SSD is highly advisable. You can add SSD in the M.2 slot and use it as boot drive in addition to the inbuilt hard drive (I got WD GREEN 240GB M.2 SATA SSD). After inserting the M.2 Drive, a screw is required to hold it in place. This screw is not included in the laptop. This screw is also not present in the SSD I ordered. I used the screw from another gaming computer I owned. This SSD improves loading time dramatically (approx. 5 seconds for booting into Windows). With inbuilt hard drive, I am getting read speeds of 65 Mb/s. In my SSD, it 545 Mb/s (nearly 9x improvement).I didn’t do much gaming in it. Yet according to various benchmark tests in youtube for Ryzen 5 2500U, it can easily handle medium-intensive games (along with few AAA Titles) with optimal settings. The GPU is not as powerful as discrete GPU but way more powerful than the Intel iGPUs. Also note that, after adding more ram, the performance of GPU tends to increase noticeably. As a performance lover, I found this Laptop amazing. If you are person (Like Me) who can frequently charge the laptop, doesn’t do much video-calling in Laptop and don’t mind about slightly inferior screen, this is the right one. With few upgrades as recommended, this is a BEAST !!!!!

Its a very good Laptop in budget and having all the things whihc a person required for normal use like office going or school as well as for Games too but not very heavy Graphics. This Laptop is not having CD DRIVE, that’s why its low in weight. Having a good design slim & light. Go for it if you need normal work not for Heavy graphics work.

5 star, online service agents ate away 1 star. Initially sound was not working. So start and run immediately on receipt and return if needed. Excellent product, shoddy Indian ASUS Service agents, not helpful in resolving issues. I got help from Google guru instead.

I bought it for my cousin in AMAZON GREAT INDIAN SALE under 43k, at this price point it has good specs of INTEL i5 8th Gen Processor, 512GB M.2 SSD, 8GB RAM, a USB C port and of course with genuine windows 10. Being a 14-inch laptop it is very compact to carry and use. Simple and elegant keyboard design. One best thing I liked about this laptop is it has extra slots for both RAM and a 2.5 inch Harddisk, giving the user option for expansion.

The laptop always hangs up and it takes time to run the programs. The build quality and the performance was not up to the mark. With new updates, it became slow. It takes a lot of time to start and shut down. The before said things are for light usage only. Finally upset with the product.
